BIOGRAPHY

Shakti Dieste is a longtime spiritual journey woman who focuses at the meeting point of psychology and spirituality.  Throughout a complex and challenging life journey, she has honed her perceptions of the human condition while growing in wisdom, humor and compassion.

A psychotherapist in private practice for nineteen years, Shakti has a background as a social worker, program director, and youth advocate.

Shakti has received honors as a scholar, lecturer and poet.  She has pursued Jungian themes, women’s studies, and the relationship between psychological androgyny and higher consciousness.  She has focused on transpersonal psychotherapy, family systems therapy, and counseling with individuals, couples and groups.

As a disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda, Shakti learned the healing benefits of meditation and pranayama, the controlled use of the breath and personal energy field.  In order to pass these benefits along to her clients, she completed advanced training with Diane Zimberoff in Heart Centered HypnotherapyTM,  including clinical hypnotherapy, guided meditation, release therapy, and group bioenergetic psychodrama.

She began her practice in Madison Park, Seattle, moving to Port Townsend, Washington, in 1994.  Over the years she has helped a wide variety of clients, ranging in age from seven to over seventy, her state-of-the-art modalities often bringing about rapid relief and a shift to a focus on self actualization and a mentally healthy future.
